Blogs are an excellent way to publish original, unique content that you can charge for.  Selling blog content can be done through memberships that charge a monthly fee.  This method of profiting from a blog is really only possible if you have knowledge of an in demand subject that is unique, original and not easily attainable otherwise for free.

Selling Advertising 

Selling advertising space is one of the most common ways to profit from a blog.  If you are able to attain high levels of targeted traffic on a daily basis you can probably sell ad space.  Usually advertisers will contract to advertise for a period of months on a blog with high levels of good traffic.  It will take work to locate advertisers for your blog, but this can be done on the internet as well.
